Flo Travel Nasal Spray 20ml
Wherever you go, go with the Flo!
Flo Travel Nasal Spray, for a healthier nose, try a protective carrageenan saline nasal spray called Flo Travel. It’s a gentle, moisturizing nasal spray containing red seaweed extract with many benefits.
There are two main natural ingredients in Flo Travel that help support nasal health and protect the nose from inhaled irritants:
- Isotonic, preservative-free saline – this helps gently wash away excess mucus containing viruses, bacteria and allergens in the nose.
- Carrageenan (red seaweed extract) – this binds to nasal tissues, forming a protective layer, which helps retain moisture for hours. Carrageenan also has a virus-trapping capability, binding to many viruses that cause the common cold. The risk of infection and virus spread may be reduced due to this binding action. Carrageenan has been shown to reduce the duration of cold symptoms and the relapse of these symptoms.
Why is nasal health important?
Under normal conditions, the mucus layer in the nose that covers nasal tissues remains moist, so that breathed in viruses, bacteria and irritants can be trapped and carried to the back of the throat. There, they are swallowed and destroyed by the stomach’s acids.
In an environment with Cooler Temperatures and Lower Humidity e.g. in air-conditioned buildings or on planes, they way the nose normally functions can be negatively impacted. Why is this?
- Cooler temperatures slow down mucus transportation in the nose;
- Lower humidity causes nasal dryness.
The air we breathe
Every day we breathe in millions of particles from the air around us. Many indoor places like hotels, shopping centres, offices or airport lounges are air-conditioned and these conditions (lower temperature/humidity) can reduce the nose’s defencse against inhaled particles and irritants.
There is some level of protection against airborne viruses or bacteria in places fitted with efficient air filtration systems e.g. air cabins on planes. These systems extract many common airborne particles. However, once a traveler has disembarked and is moving through the airport (and beyond), where there is no (or less efficient) air filtration, exposure to airborne viruses and bacteria can be higher.
Wearing a disposable filter masks (P2/N45) can be helpful and offer some level of protection but they do not remove all particles from the air.
