Everything you need to start using the Caya® contoured diaphragm, in one bundle. Caya is a hormone-free, latex-free, reusable diaphragm with an anatomical shape designed to fit most women, so no professional sizing is needed. It is used only when needed, and is inserted before intercourse much like a tampon. About Caya Gel

Caya Gel uses cellulose to form an additional physical barrier at the cervix and lowers the pH of vaginal fluid. Its acidity and viscosity help reduce sperm motility. Using the diaphragm with gel is recommended, as use without gel has been shown to be less safe. Approx. 3-month shelf life once opened.

How to Use

1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
2. Place about one teaspoon (approx. 4 mL) of Caya Gel in the cup of the diaphragm.
3. Insert the diaphragm before intercourse, by hand or with the Inserter + Remover, so that it covers the cervix. It sits between the back of the vagina and behind the pubic bone.
4. For repeat intercourse, top up the gel without removing the diaphragm. Screw the Vaginal Applicator onto the Caya Gel tube and squeeze until the gel reaches the dosage mark. Then unscrew the applicator and insert it to apply the gel.
5. Leave the diaphragm in place for at least 6 hours after the last intercourse. Do not wear it for longer than 24 hours without interruption.
6. Remove the diaphragm with your finger under the removal dome, or with the curved end of the Inserter + Remover.
7. Wash the diaphragm and the Inserter + Remover with mild soap and warm water, rinse, then let them air dry. Do not boil, and do not use detergents or disinfectants. Store the diaphragm in its case.

Important Information

• Does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
• No contraceptive method guarantees 100% protection against pregnancy.
• Do not use in the first 6 weeks after childbirth.
• Not suitable if you previously used a conventional diaphragm of 60 mm or smaller, or 85 mm or larger. Women who used 65–80 mm diaphragms can use Caya straight away.
• Not suitable with strong pelvic floor descent or uterine prolapse.
• Use only water-based lubricants. Do not use silicone-based lubricants, including those containing dimethicone or silicone oil.
• Caya Gel is not a contraceptive on its own and is not for use during pregnancy.
• The vaginal applicator is recommended for single use.
• Replace the diaphragm after 2 years from first use, or sooner if it is damaged.
• Consult your doctor if the diaphragm causes pain during intercourse.
